Lack of experience, jitters, youth, all raised up their heads for the Lady Hawks first game tonight. Missed layups and free throws (11 for 22), along with 28 turnovers spelled doom as the Hawks were defeated 45 to 32. Coach Nocella said: We did a lot of nice things tonight, but we didnt finish, which got us into a state of panic instead of keeping our cool. It was the first time three of the girls ever started at the Varsity level. We were down 18 to 8 at one time and came back to end the half down two, 18-20. The third quarter we got careless with the ball and we did not adjust well when the other team changed their defenses and we were outscored 13 to 4. We were led in scoring by Freshman Monraia Wilson with 13 points and 10 boards. Mary Saitta pulled down 9 boards. The Lady Hawks play again this Thursday at 6pm at home vs. Lake Park
