Ladies BEWARE! Some hair WEAVES contain deadly worms. Totally SHOCKING! :- When Irene Kiogora, a local accountant, visited a local upmarket hair and beauty stall, she picked her favourite hair weave at ksh 3,000. But after some weeks, she started developing severe headaches prompting her to visit a doctor. The doctor gave her some painkillers but after some days, the headache worsened. This prompted her to visit a specialist who did several blood tests and even a head scan. All the results turned negative but the headache persisted and she couldn’t even sleep. After some few weeks, she went back to the doctor who examined her scalp and under her beautiful weave, there were worms. The worms were burrowing into her skulls and when the doctor took some samples to the lab, he found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had hatched. To Irene’s uttermost shock, the doctor told her that the weave was from a dead corpse. This is because, the worms found in Irene’s weave are usually found on dead bodies. Irene’s case depicts dangers that Kenyan ladies are exposing to their health in the name of beauty. Most of the weaves containing worms are mainly imported from UK, USA and INDIA. In another case early this year, a sixteen year old girl from Buru Buru in Nairobi suffered the same fate but unfortunately for her, she died. Cobweb eggs were found in her weave after she died. The weave had unnoticed spider eggs that hatched due to warmth. A spider grew and bit her scalp, draining poison into her blood system. Unfortunately, she couldn’t survive the attack and died at such an early age. Ladies should now be on the lookout while buying hair weaves, they might just be booking a ticket to the grave.
