Ladies & Gentlemen of the Regiment Last week my brother , Brian ,of who many of you know from our time with the Dukes , informed me that he was in front of the Royal British Legion , selection commitee. I asked for more clarification In other words i said , what the F### you on about Well he has been the standard Bearer for his local RBL in Southampton , and has been put forward to become the union flag bearer for the area He was up against , in his words , a matloe and a civvy wearing his Dads medals Well fellow members of the Regiment , i am pleased to announce, that Brian Carbine is the new union flag bearer for the south area He will be proudly wearing his DWR beret and cap badge , along with his Regimental Blazer So please lets send him our congratulations , and for pipping the matloe to the position , in a strong Navel Area Well Done r kid VFC
