Ladies and Gentlemen! I go by the name of MULEYA CEDRIQUE CANDIDATE NO. 13 - SCHOOL OF LAW It is my perfect pleasure to ultimately make it public knowledge that I am campaigning for School of Law Chairperson. I believe that leadership is an issue that is absolutely central to our ability to thrive in a sphere of increasing complexity and accelerating change. However, at the most basic level, we need to distinguish between dominance and leadership. A dominant individual will seize power and assert control. This is how our school has been administrated for years. I now come on board to stir our school towards new directions. I am the leader you dream to have, a leader of limitless avenues. I am your Moses and I am here to take you to the promised land. Strategically, I vested it upon myself to improve the static nature of our school together with you. We have heard enough of the issue of textbooks, law library etc. Lets admit that the topic has grown weary and I wont talk about it. Its time to think OUT OF THE BOX. You will agree with me that UNIVEN LAW STUDENTS are deprived of an external exposure. We need to observe and experience the legal practical world in reality and not in our own imaginations. By so doing it will enhance our knowledge in terms of different specialities in the legal fraternity. Some of you are not yet certain as to which type of a lawyer you ought to become because you are not yet exposed to the practical world, thus I declare you exonerated. Trips should not only be undergone because of moot court. I propound that we should have FIELD TRIPS which serve to enlighten students about practical spheres in law. We could go to the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court of Appeal, Parliament, just to name a few. this will also sharpen our zest in law and its practices. I believe that a relationship between the School of Law and Law Firms should be established. This will place our law graduates in an advantage of procuring articles of clerkship immediately after graduation without having to tussle, and also vocational work for our students, not forgetting the procurement of bursaries. I mean this is a basket full of advantages. Local law firms can be persuaded to come on board as a way of giving back to the community. I have already laid a solid foundation on which I will execute these plans. ONLY YOUR VOTE CAN MAKE ALL THESE POSSIBLE.
