Ladies and Gentlemen, here is my penultimate post on our independence referendum: I am immensely proud to have been part of the campaign for independence over the last six years, and in an accelerated way over the last two years. Whilst Im devastated at the result, I wouldnt change a thing: we fought the good fight and took democracy to the doorstep of the people of Scotland. Our grassroots campaign - of all-party and no-party - united people in a common endeavour to deliver a fairer future for all. Our relentless efforts were met by the force of the British establishment and their elite cronies who, at Number 10s command, economically blackmailed Scotland. We have been robbed of a better future and we will never forget it. Scotland will never be the same again. The people of Scotland, in their millions, have indisputably rejected the status quo - the UK must change. The Pro-Union parties made many promises in the last weeks of the campaign on change and more powers - it is now up to them to deliver them. You can call me cynical; however, I believe that we will be punished for this democratic expression. The Westminster Government will resume their ideological attacks on our most poor, disabled and vulnerable. If is up to us to man the barricades, so to speak, and fight for Scotland. Weve missed our one opportunity, our one chance, to create a modern Scotland that champions a fairer future for all. But, please let me be clear: The sun will melt the rocks before I stop believing in, and campaigning for, independence. We live to fight another day. Anyway.. Dont blame me, I voted Yes.
