Ladies and Gentlemen, we present the WOLFOWITZ DOCTRINE, as drafted by one time chief at the Pentagon Paul Wolfowitz, I quote:: Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power. This neo-con war party line is now official US foreign policy. Russia must be kept down and the same goes for China. This to be carried out by all means possible including regime change and preventive wars. Best nuke them now before they build up a military capability to match ours. States in Europe and East Asia with close proximity to China/Russia must be dragooned into becoming front-line allies of the US, which means their foreign policy is subordinated to US geopolitical imperatives. Even the late Teddy Kennedy couldnt stomach this and regarded it as naked imperialism (which of course it is). en god kommentar The story is that at every opportunity a Russian threat has to be manufactured. Given the fact that Russia is outgunned and outnumbered (4-1) by the EU/USA/NATO alliance there is of course no serious threat - no threat that is if you dont go sticking ABMs on its borders. This latest nonsense goes into the casebook along with the fabled submarine. The object of NATO is to continue to exist and even expand, to do this it needs to create an identifiable enemy. The whole thing is a farce - unfortunately a dangerous farce.
