Ladies and gentlemen, this was the status update of a good friend - TopicsExpress

Ladies and gentlemen, this was the status update of a good friend of mine today. Read and heed everyone!!! Hind sight is 20/20: I allowed my daughter to go to a bonfire last night w/a group of her friends I know & trust. At the last minute, the location changed--to another girls house (who I dont know well & dont trust). I let her go after talking w/2 fellow moms. The terrible consequences: My daughter was unknowingly drugged by the partys host. She began hallucinating, couldnt stand up, and had older boys trying to take advantage of her. Thankfully, her friends got her out of there & brought her home. We believe it was Xanax, mixed into her iced tea. Raising kids these days is scary. Were very fortunate shes ok, although she has no memory of the night. Lessons: 1. NEVER ignore that feeling in your soul that somethings wrong. If it feels wrong, say no. I know your teen will be angry. Say no anyway. 2. Teach your teen girls (boys too, but girls ESPECIALLY) never, ever, EVER to accept a drink at a party. Get something in a bottle that is unopened and never let it go. 3. Thank God for the kids whose parents taught them to keep tabs on their friend and not let her get taken advantage of. Teach your kids to watch out for their friends! 4. This is a warning shot for sure. Please learn from it.
