Lake Elliot....its been about 6 years since my family ever even thought about this place, but what was then. This is now. As I pull onto the abandoned property I look at the sign my sister and I use to sit on and watch the cars go by, playing the known game of I-Spy. I pull up to cabin #33, the one we rented every time we visited the resort. At least I thought it was the same cabin, the numbers were rusted and worn off. I put my hands on my waist, stretching from the long ride here. I browse the area, it comes to my attention almost every tree there is dead. I unlace my sneakers, rip off my socks, roll up my pants legs and head down to the sand. I move my toes around in the sand at first, then start to wade in. The first connection I made with the water made me jump back to the safety of land. It wasnt it was cold, I couldnt swim, or I felt something....it was the memory of my sister after all. It gave me the thoughts of how I couldve save her..no matter how fast I tried to swim, no matter how hard I splashed. By the time I reached to point to where I had last seen her she was under, I dived with all my might to search the bottom. Nothing but a cool, stone current. As I tried one more time to wade in, I saw something bobbing in the water in a distance. I paddled myself towards it, when I noticed what it was my body immediately froze and I was under. The current feeling as if it was driving to whip the life out of me, tore me from one side of the lake to the other. When it was over my screaming had stopped, I was completely dry, I was in cabin #33. I ran to the window and saw my sister standing on the beach of the lake. Frozen, still, but still there. ****Feedback?****
