Land and Sea Policy Officer Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (CLCAC) Looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference? If so then the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (CLCAC) is interested in hearing from you as a candidate to fill an exciting new role. The CLCACs new Strategy, Policy and Coordination Unit is looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role ofLand and Sea Policy Officer. In this exciting new role you will: •Assist in developing innovative strategy, policy and programs that enhance Indigenous land and sea management and drive community development outcomes;Assist in designing programs that develop the capacity of CLCACs Indigenous Ranger Programs; •Project manage the delivery of CLCAC projects and programs; •Assist in developing funding submissions and preparing program evaluation and milestone reports; and •Get to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, including travel to the environmentally diverse and remote Southern Gulf of Carpentaria. Key Selection Criteria (no longer than 2 pages) 1.Demonstrated high level knowledge of land use planning and land management issues along with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practices, processes and policies relevant to community engagement, particularly in Indigenous communities. 2.Proven ability in developing strategy, policy and programs that address complex issues, ideally in a land use planning environment. 3.Proven high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, liaise, negotiate and resolve complex issues with other CLCAC staff and stakeholders (including industry, environment and Indigenous representatives) on a wide range of issues including land and sea management and community development. 4.Proven project management skills and proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet externally imposed deadlines to deliver agreed priorities.
