#Landlord Support - #Electrical Services From 2005 landlords were asked to abide by the new Part P Building Regulations. They were introduced to improve the safety of tenants, and improve the design, installation, inspection and testing of electrical installations in UK homes and gardens. Failure to comply with Part P Building Regulations is a criminal offence and local authorities have the power to require the removal or alteration of work that doesn’t comply. As a result landlords must follow these new guidelines when carrying out electrical work. Non-qualified electricians must notify or submit plans to a building control body before commencing work on any repairs, replacements, maintenance work, additional power or lighting points and other alterations to existing circuits in kitchens, bathrooms or outside areas. How can we help? We can advise on the legality of existing electrical work, and offer ideas for proposed electrical layouts. Book a callback today! electricusgroup.co.uk/landlord-support.html
