Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has today signed a memorandum of understanding with the common wealth business community to develop low cost houses. The 600 million dollars deal, the equivalent of 48 billion shillings, is going to see the development of about 30,000 housing units in the next two years. The Jubilee government promised to be constructing at least 250,000 houses every year so as to meet housing needs especially for low income earners and those living in informal settlements. Ngilu says that the MOU marks a start of many development projects that will see the government partner with the private sector to achieve this dream
