Lanette Bendixsen, you say we should go to the FBI. There is a post on the the internet, indicating the US cops (I am not sure who that refers to) eventually paid the robbers to get their files back. They used all their highly skilled professional resources and were not able to restore without it. Speaking from experience, the problem with speaking with law inforcement, they take your stuff as evidence and it often takes years to get it back, if you ever do. I cant or dont choose to be without our computer background of information for years, months, or even weeks. I would love to see them prosecuted but not at the expense of us being able to constructively run our business. But we are doing all we can first to see if there is any way possible to recover the data. I may be driving to Seattle today to take the back up hard disk to experts. It ironically seems to have failed at the same time. Is it related? We dont know but it may be the key to unlocking the data. If it failed mechanically instead of electronically, they may be able to insert the data disk into a working driver and extract the information. I have my fingers crossed. Incidentally, we have no more pictures to put on FB posts until we recover the data which has our library of pictures.
