Large number of patrons waiting for us tonight. The line seemed to never end. Thanks to all our cooks and volunteers tonight and we welcomed a young man Jayden that was doing some community service for a school program. Chilli con carne, rice, pasta, Mexican tortilla stack and food parcels and potato salad all disappeared quickly. Followed by berry sponge, chocy custard, jelly, blueberry pudding, donuts and cakes. StreetMed assisted Gen tonight who wasnt feeling the best. Thanks Chris. I have to put out a big thanks to all our staff, StreetMed and Christ Mission Possible who all came together to help a 14 yo girl who has found herself on the street. Staff ensured she ate and had enough food for breakfast and her school lunch while StreetMed and Gen jumped on the phones and tried to find some safe accommodation for tonight. Thanks to CMP she is now safely tucked into a bed and had her uniform washed ready for tomorrow. Gen will be meeting with principle and youth services to engage more assistance for her and try and get her back home. Very proud of ALL our PIF family members tonight who helped out. Thank you to our friend John who donated 10 boxes of Turkey for us to cook up. To all those that donated items tonight down on site and for the very kind donation from Wallacia Development Centre and all their international friends. Carolina - thank you so much, sorry couldnt chat as I was on the phone, please thank all your members for their donations. Love the friendships that we have formed with our patrons. Its like getting together to have a family meal 3 nights a week. The laughs and the banter create a great atmosphere. We have had patrons in hospital having surgery this week, one got a part time job another got to see his kids for the first time in ages. Love hearing their stories and helping where we can.
