Large number of spiritual aspirants give up as they progressively find teachings and instructions difficult to understand.This is more pronounced as the aspirants move to higher states. Your understanding is irrelevant in the divine. Since early school people are trained to understand subjects. Understanding has become the most important tool in survival. It is impossible to understand deeper spiritual states and people become insecure and frightened. The utter aloneness in such states add to their fear. They abandon further progress and move back to the make belief security of social living. Something precious and incomparable is lost by this giving up.
