Larry Combest to speak in Brownfield June 27 How can you make a difference in Washington, D.C.? Voting is a good start, but how can local producers have a say in national policies after the elections? Former House Agriculture Committee Chairman Larry Combest will be in Brownfield Thursday, June 27 to discuss ways that local producers can impact decisions made in Washington. In his presentation at the Family Life Center, 506 N. Atkins St., Brownfield, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Combest will address the importance of local producers staying abreast of legislative issues and voicing their opinions to elected officials. He will also host a Q&A session where local producers can ask questions about the legislative process and the status of Farm Bill legislation. The Terry County Cotton Program Committee invited Combest to speak in Brownfield. The Committee is an advisory board assisting Chris Bishop, CEA-AG, with developing educational programming for producers. Committee members include Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin Manager Dan Jackson, Southwest Cotton Growers Manager Kenny Underwood and local cotton producers Keith Harrison and James Harlan.
