YOUTH MICRO CHALLENGE AWARD (YMCA 2014) APPLICATION OPEN NOW Application Deadline: Friday, July 25, 2014 The Aga Khan Rural Support Porgramme (AKRSP) under its Enhancing Employability & Leadership for Youth (EELY) project funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) and the Aga Khan Foundation Canada is pleased to announce Youth Micro Challenge Award – 2014 for youth-led/serving organizations and youth owned enterprises/start-up businesses from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. These awards will be given in two categories: 1) Social & Leadership Development: Under this category creative and innovative ideas/proposals will be accepted from youth-led and youth serving organizations working at village, Union Council and district levels, focusing on education, health, sports, gender and youth mainstreaming, environment, ICT, peace and conflict transformation, media and participatory governance. The award ranges from Rs. 40,000 to Rs 300,000 maximum. 2) Enterprise & Business Development: Under this category creative and innovative business plans will be accepted from youth owned enterprises/start-up businesses & youth entrepreneurs for creating employment opportunities for youth as well as growth in major economic sectors like social enterprises, high value horticulture, construction, gems, tourism, trade and commerce. The award ranges from Rs.50, 000 to Rs 150,000 maximum.
