Last Friday night, my daughter could have, should have lost her life. She was tired after work, distracted by food in her passenger seat and in literally a split second, her cars right front tire caught the edge of the road, sending her into a ditch, then shooting her into the air over a concrete driveway and wrapping the front end of her car around a utility pole about 30 feet away. In the photographic evidence its hard to see the magnitude of what happened. She WALKED away from this accident with a neck strain and bruises. At the ER, her CAT scan and x-rays were all negative. She was only going about 35 mph, her airbags deployed and she was wearing her seat belt. Even with those things in place, she is incredibly lucky to walk away from this and she knows it. Courtney Warren has said that she believe this was God telling her Hey, it only takes a split second for everything to change. At 17, she is starting to understand mortality, not being invincible and more importantly, that distracted driving, whether its texting or simply taking your eyes off the road can hurt or kill you or others. PLEASE DONT DRIVE DISTRACTED!!
