Last Saturday, 34 members from across 32BJ from New England to Florida, gathered at headquarters in New York City to discuss 32BJ’s progressive policy agenda for the 12 states and districts where we have members. With the ultimate goal of helping create jobs in the property services sector, this policy agenda seeks to support new organizing, strengthen our fight backs and contracts, raise standards for all workers, and strengthen 32BJ members’ communities. Members were welcomed by President Hector Figueroa, and there conference included a keynote address by Valerie Ervin, the Executive Director of the Center for Working Families, and a panel of policy experts from our partners in the broader progressive movement. Member participants are going to bring this work back to their districts.
