Last Thursday we participated in #happinesscycle Over 200 youth in Bankstown received bikes to assist their healthier active transport choices 3 students could not ride their bike after an hour putting it together, I had the rewarding pleasure teaching them how to ride before leaving for the day An amazingly moving experience with determination to succeed and an emotional celebration sharing with family members This program offers so much more than it intends, these young girls had not met before the day and had made arrangements to meet up on weekends for a ride! Each of the girls had their own journey to share why they hadnt ridden before or since training wheels either health or accessibility. John rode with the many young people around the track as they tested their bikes, adjusting seat heights, teaching gear changes and correcting helmet fits. A very busy couple of hours discreetly coaching many of the youth using the shared path. More bikes being delivered next month in Canterbury. Check out Johns pics from the day.
