Last Tuesday I attended the meeting at Shirley Boys High in regards to the flooding in local streets. Residents are facing some extremely tough times due to the drop in the land, damaged drainage systems, silt in rivers and streams and generally the lack of knowing what the next step is for them and what is going to be done for them personally and as a community as a whole. It was good to see The Council represented and giving valuable information but missing were EQC and CERA. Residents are so frustrated by the lack of response and information given by their two organisations. I believe we need to see a greater involvement by them towards the people of Christchurch when the hard questions are being asked.
