Last Wed. when I went to pick up my commodities in Sheffield we were blessed to find the delivery included lots of palettes of tomatoes and carrots and potatoes. With the tomatoes I got, I was able to bring a bag to each of my neighbors in the apartment building I live in and then went about cooking myself. We were also blessed with meat so I got several packages of hamburg which as we all know is so expensive now but so versatile. That day I made stuffed tomatoes with a side of potato salad Yesterday I worked with my daughter in law Karen to make and freeze lots of chili, using the tomatoes and more of the hamburg. And as an extra treat to freeze for the winter we made 9 loaves of the best zucchini bread ever from the zucchini given to us from several people. Thanks Sheffield food shelf for your generous food that you provide for the residents of Sheffield, Sutton, and Wheelock and for those that get their senior commodities there as well. You are such a blessing to so many. And thank you too, to the blessing of all the other fresh veggies from others. It is so helpful and appreciated.
