Last call for Gala Star 2014. The deadline for submitting the proposals is 15th February 2014. The Bacau County ‘Bacovia Theatre’ is delighted to announce the opening of the 9th edition of the STAR GALA. GALA STAR is an international competition-festival dedicated to all artists that express themselves in a variety of ways, under the one-man show category: theatre, choreography-theatre, puppetry, circus-theatre, pantomime, stand-up comedy, etc. The competition is open to Romanian contestants as well as foreign contestants and is intended to stimulate the public’s interest in recitals, as an autonomous form of entertaining, and the artists’ interest in the individual shows and authors – as a formula meant to highlight the potential of the creative entertainers. GALA STAR has a competitive character. The jury will be made up of professionals from the national and international theatre and will elect the winners from the most valuable recitals submitted within the competition, awarding: • The Grand Award and GALA STAR Trophy • The Award for the best one-man show • The Award for the best one-woman show In addition there will also be the ‘Stefan Iordache – Honorary Award’, elected by the students of the Bacau County high-schools and the ‘Bacovia Theatre Actor’s Award’. Romanian and foreign productions lasting between 40 and 80 minutes will be accepted. • The deadline for submitting the proposals is 15th February 2014 (stamp date/post office date) • Candidates should send the following: 1. A DVD recording of the submitted production (including the duration of the recital) 2. A portrait picture and a picture from the show (JPG format) 3.
