Last casino I constructed created between 250-600 construction jobs (depending on phasing/point in schedule) for 2.5 to 3 years between unionized laborers/ workers, architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, lighting consultants, ownerd representatives, project executives, project managers, Superintendents, assistant PMs and Superintendents, project engineers, mechanical coordinators, project schedulers, office administrators, project comptrollers, secretaries, local college interns (from engineering schools) etc. Not to mention all the materials you have to buy to complete the project..usually from local sources as per contract with owner/local agencies. And most if not all of this money comes privately. And in a few years they do it all over again to change the casino theming as they have to compete with their competitors by either adding more structures or just changing the interior finishes. It will even create infrastructure jobs as improvements will be made to local roadways/highways. These are jobs for years from a private source. Havent even mentioned the jobs that will be created for facility maintenance, on site engineers, and sll staffing required for the casins, associated hotels, tenant space (restaurants, shops, nightclubs, etc) to work on a daily basis (24 hour basis for the casino and some of the restaurants). I guess you know how I am voting.
