Last cattle vessel out of east Kimberley for the season #banliveexport Wyndham Port, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, has had it last live export vessel for the year. A ship, with 3,400 head of cattle on board, left for Indonesia early on Wednesday. The ports Steve Forest says the Galloway Express was predominately filled by Lissadell Station cattle. They looked really really good they were in their prime. To see cattle at this time of year as good as they were is unusual. The port this year has been told it must make changes to its yards if it wants to continue to operate. These changes which are yet to occur had to be finished before the wet started this year. Despite the port being unable to operate because of this, Mr Forest says its normal for the port to not have vessels during the wet season. Sometimes we do one or two ships during December, well we have just done one. We wouldnt under normal circumstances expect to get any more because once it starts raining it gets very hard to muster and it is the end of the season.
