Last minute reminders for August and our September schedule: Fellowship: · Help! Saturday, August 31st Labor of Love, 1-4 PM. The UWSP volunteer program Labor of Love will provide the Fellowship with volunteers to help clean our building. We need Fellowship members to work with these volunteers to get our building ready for weekly use this fall! · NO SERVICE SEPT 1st – Because of the Labor Day Holiday weekend, there is not a service this Sunday. · Polishing and Waxing Floors: After the Labor of Love volunteers have cleaned our building, we’d like to follow-up with polishing and waxing the linoleum floors. We are looking at either Sept 3 or 4th during the day. This would be an all day process, but volunteers could committee to 2 – 4 hour shifts. We would need approximately four volunteers. · Sunday Morning Services Start, Sept 8th 10:00 AM “Mingling of Water” ceremony is a celebration that is unique to the Unitarian Universalist Faith. For the Stevens Point UU Fellowship it is the traditional opening service for the year that celebrates the coming back together as a community. Following the service we will have a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to pass and your own eating utensils. Coffee, tea and juice will be provided. · Sat, Sept 21st “Essence of Democracy Road Trip” 8 AM - 8 PM Join our student Intern minister Jim Coakley and members of the Wausau UU for a road trip to the Penokee Hills Education Summit and then on to the Lac Courte Oreilles Harvest Camp, near the site of the proposed Gogebic Taconite iron mine.
