Last month many Sikhs celebrated Indias Independence Day Last night a friend of mine sent me a video which is four years old I want to share with you My grandparents were the refugees that this singh speaks of Luckily for my grandparents my dads Massar ki Sardar Pritam Singh Ji Sarai who sadly passed away last month was already living in the India side of Punjab and helped them immensely along with many more brilliant people from our extended family however there were many punjabis who had to leave everything in East Punjab to move to west Punjab and start from scratch The government did nothing to help Nehru prime minister at the time even went as far as to say all refugees must be kept atleast 50kms away from the capital Delhi!!!! The Gurudwaras prepared Langars which were dropped to the refugees by aeroplane! Dont take this the wrong way I dont want to offend anyone but what I will say is if your a punjabi especially a Sikh and your proud to be indian research the time of independence and see did you really get independence or did your masters just change? Khalistan zindabad
