Last month, residents were not permitted past this sign as the space was reserved for the Stakeholders. Citizens had to watch the Stakeholders discuss wether it would be appropriate to form an ENVIRONMENTAL COURT and have Trumbull residents answer to an APPOINTED environmental court magistrate. Currently, when Trumbull residents are charged by the health department for a violation, they must attend a court in their respective jurisdiction and go before a Judge ELECTED by the people of that jurisdiction. If the Stakeholders decide they want to have an environmental court for the entire county, then each person charged by a health department will have to travel to the chosen location of the environmental court and face a magistrate that will likely be appointed by the Stakeholders. Interestingly, they consider the judges, health commissioner, board of health, environmental director and rule makers the Stakeholders. Whats at stake for those they deemed Stakeholders? In REALITY, arent the Stakeholders the very citizens this new formation would impact. When did taxpayers lose their stake in this? When did we lose our say in how our elected officials run the affairs that directly impact us?
