Last night Fox Five Atlanta aired a story about a client of Stubbys Heroes. The client is a beautiful merle/red pit bull named Sarah from Bartow County. Sarah was enjoying her own back yard at home one day in mid February when Animal Control showed up asking for the gray pit bull in the home. When told that there wasnt a gray dog, they asked for their dog. AC took Sarah, just like that. Sarah sat in AC for a few weeks before we were contacted. We filed a motion to release her because test after test came back that Sarah was not guilty, including a blood test of Sarahs collar as the lady that was attacked fifty times claimed that after being attacked, that she grabbed the attack dog by the collar and placed it back in its own yard. No blood = Sarah came home yesterday. The lady that was attacked and that could not identify the dog that supposedly attacked her went on Fox Five and they loved the story and spent HOURS trailing around Sarahs home. Sarah is home, but things will never be the same. The neighborhood has been split by those siding with the lady, and those that know and love Sarah as a family pet. Sarahs family is concerned, with reason, about their safety, and Sarahs. There is a teen and elementary age child in the home and they have been through hell. I watched Sarahs human dad torn up and teary eyed over Sarah laying on a cement floor. I watched Sarahs human mom fighting, neck to neck, with our pro bono attorneys. Life has changed for this family, and for Sarah, who will never be allowed in her own yard alone, ever, and for the other family pets. For those of you that leave your dogs in your yards unattended while you leave your homes, for those of you that dont collar your dogs, that dont leash your dogs, this could be YOUR fight next. -JF
