Last night I got this lovely message in my in box from someone who doesnt know me and isnt even on my friends list. I guess he just wanted to chastise me for making no budget films... Jeffrey D. Allen I recall a VC who once said If your not in it to make a profit then its not a career its just a hobby. Its unfortunate that the film industry is the only one Ive ever seen where so many think it OK to volunteer for a career Robert H. Gwinn Its not the goal. Its a means to an end... if you dont. Like it, nobody is forcing anyone. We all want to make a living but it should be about the craft first. Eventually I hope my projects make a lot of money for a lot of passionate people. I am fine with my HOBBY and if someday my hobby makes me rich, then I will be grateful. Keep chasing money if you like, but you will never know what it means to be creative or whit it means when someone comes up to you and embraces you for changing them on an emotional level. I hope someday that my hobby becomes a career, but PMing me and insulting me for not being all about the money is the wrong approach. Tell you what, instead of being rude, why don;t you put your money where your mouth is and find an indie film maker to support and help him launch his career. I promise you, if its successful you stand to gain a lot more in the long run.
