Last night, I made the post about Rupurrt, but really downgraded what is going on. I had a hard time dealing with it last night, but I want to let you know what is happening to my little boy. Rupurrt is truly a sick little boy. His vet thinks he was born this way but he has no flora in his body (good bacteria) this in turn created the colitis and caused his large/small intestines to swell. He is on a decent antibiotic to help with that. He is going to have a procedure done in the next couple of weeks that I pray will work and fix this. The reason for the wait is that we have to give the antibiotics a chance to work. Rupurrt is going to have a fecal transplant. Since his body has no flora, he is going to have fecal matter put into his colon that is loaded with flora. The goal is that the flora will wipe out the bad bacteria on its way out. The first option was to go with probiotics, but it would take too long if it worked at all. This is more aggressive and Im praying it works. Hell also have follow up appointments afterward to make sure everything is healing. Last night he felt pretty lousy, I was warned this could happen. He didnt leave his basket at all, no cuddles with me, just his basket. Then this morning, he didnt want to get up with me as he always does. It was very lonely for me to not have him chatting away to me as I was getting ready for work. Buddy wanted to play road race this afternoon, Rupurrt walked away. Im worried sick about my boy and heart broken that I didnt know he was sick. Im sorry for not telling all this last night, I needed time to digest it and get a grasp on it. Then when I saw Angel Girl had passed, I knew I had to say something and do it tonight. Please pray for my little boy, I am so worried about him. I love Rupie with all my heart and he is my everything. This poor little guy has been through so much in his short life, its time he had a break and had a chance to enjoy his life.
