Last night I set up a black light to reflect off a white back wall. This attracted several small moths. The most exciting were three colorful Geometer speciews(inchworm moths). I found three species of emeralds and a purple one, a Stained Lophosis, "Lophosis labeculata". I was surprised when I checked the wall shortly before dawn. There was a huge Tersa Sphinx moth, "Xylophanes tersa". 1. Emerald, " Synchlora xysteraria" (no common name) 2. Red-bordered Emerald, "Nemoria lixaria" 3. Southern Emerald Moth, "Synchlora frondaria".
