Last night I was fortunate enough to be able to take some time to attend the Central Middle School 7th and 8th grade football games. I consider these classes my boys as I have coached many of these boys or against them. Seeing my little guys growing into young men brought back many fond memories. I really thought I would drift off to a peaceful night of rest after quenching my football thirst, but instead, I laid wide awake for most of the night thinking about opportunities lost to create better youth football in the Bartholomew County area. As long as I have been involved with coaching their has been a MASSIVE split of the talent in both coaching and players. While I dont ever see a common league coming together for a whole season, maybe...just maybe PAAL and BC Bears could come together for post season and spring season to put up a unified front against the rest of the state. Seeing how dominant our middle school and high school teams have been lately proves it for the most part. As most of you know, my time coaching here is done as my family prepares to move north. With that in mind, I implore the Coaches, administrators and parents to put aside your petty differences and rivalries and put up that united front and take on the freaking world. Together you all can be very good...divided and you will always struggle. I really wish I had taken a year off before so that I could see everything from the outside point of view. It is far to obvious what the problem is! With all that being said...does anyone want a carpooling buddy to head to Center Grove to watch Northside on Wednesday??
