Last night Vocalist TONI BYRD invited guests to a date night at Cafe Vena in The Vinings area of Cobb County, Atlanta. The deal was, she along with pianist RANDY HUDSON would provide a musical mood for a wonderful evening at a warm intimate venue, we would provide our date. Throw in a sumptuous meal by Chef Anthony of Chef 2 Envy, a little dancing in the aisles and a wonderful evening it turned out to be. Ms. Byrds sets included covers of Billy Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Barbara Streisand songs which worked well with the cozy atmosphere away from a rainy day. Thanks Toni, my dates (wife) stamp of approval resulted in a win-win arrangement (NOTE TO READER: I was with my wife, so get your mind out of the gutter!). Shout out to POSEY MILLER (brother of the late Jazz Pianist MULLGREW MILLER) and DAVID GAISSERT (Director/Trumpeter with the Peachtree Jazz Edition) in the house. Some very interesting people.
