Last night after finishing his homework, Jiajia was asked by his mother what other additional homework he would like to do since the school examination is just around the corner. BM: would you like to do science? JJ: No BM: why not? JJ: I dont like science. BM: why dont you like it? JJ: I dont understand what my teacher said. BM: how about Chinese? JJ: No, no, no. BM: you dont understand it too? JJ: I am not good at it. BM: Jiajia, do you know research indicated that out of the 100 most successful businessmen in the world, 30% to 40% are dyslexic? They are successful not because they are dyslexic, but because they have a harder path and they work hard to overcome their problems. And when they work hard they will be rewarded accordingly. JJ: So many are dyslexic ah? BM: Yup. And if you want to be a successful businessman someday, you should do well in math. The ability to count well is the basic requirement. So would you like to do math? JJ: yes. I will do math. BM handed 5 math questions to Jiajia and he obediently sat beside the table lamp to tackle his math questions. After quite some time when Jiajia still had not finished his math problems, BM came over to check on his progress. Jiajia looked up at his mother with tired eyes. He didnt finish the questions. In fact he only completed 2 out of 5. And out of the 2 questions he only managed to get one correct. Hello kitty: mommy, I am hungry. JJ: mom, I also hungry. BM: ok, go take a rest and ask auntie for cereals. Jiajia face lit up and quickly disappeared within split second. For any parents out there with dyslexic children, patience is the name of the game.
