Last night around 10:30pm I was on my way home from work when I ran out of gas. I was about a mile or two from my house, so I reached in my purse for my phone and before I could call anyone, it died. So Im sitting in my car just looking around contemplating walking home in the cold with no jacket. I sat there for about 5 minutes until this young guy comes out of his house and asks me if I ran out of gas. I told him yes and that I needed to use a phone. So, he gets in my car, yes, he got in my passenger seat, and let me use his phone to call my mom, but no answer.. Normally, I may have been a little scared, but the second we started talking it felt like Id known him forever...It was crazy!.. So this guy went out of his way, drove down to gas station with his gas can and put gas in my car. He said something about how it would mean good Karma for him for doing it. I had given him a $20 bill, and he brought me my change, but instead I let him keep the $17 left over for helping me. I was so amazed by this guy. It just goes to show that there really are still good people left out there. It was so funny because when I told him my gas gauge is broke, he said his is too, AND he drove the same kind of car as me, so he said he knew exactly what I was going through.....If it wasnt for him, I would have either sat there for a looong time or walked home in the cold. I will find another way to repay him for what he did for me! It was just really nice to see a young guy, about my age be so respectful, friendly and considerate...because you dont see it often enough. Maybe theres hope for our generation after all.
