Last night at The Great Australian Songbook Concert at the Enmore - TopicsExpress

Last night at The Great Australian Songbook Concert at the Enmore Theatre (benefitting The Variety Club) I sang The Zoots version of Eleanor Rigby. The song was of course originally written by Paul McCartney for The Beatles Revolver album but when Paul heard The Zoots version (back in the day) he reckoned he preferred it to their recording. High praise indeed. The Zoot featured (the late) Darryl Cotton on vocals and Rick Springfield on guitar. Beeb Birtles is on bass (later of Little River Band) and an unknown-to-me-but-great drummer. What a rockin band. Just a reminder, I will be appearing semi-solo at Lizottes restaurant in Dee Why on Thursday night with Brad Shepherd providing harmonies and fancy guitar picking. Hopefully this will the first of many such events around the country (presuming everyone, including me, enjoys the experience this time). Wait - I am already doing two more: this Friday and Saturday at Lizottes in Kincumber and the one in Newcastle. Tickets for Dee Why available here: sydney.lizottes.au/live/index.asp For Kincumber: lizottes.au/live/index.asp For Newcastle: newcastle.lizottes.au/live/index.asp Lets do this thing! Dave
