Last night has got me thinking, no matter what anyones opinion on Mt Druitt is, or the bad things they portray it to be, nothing beats what a community can do to help each other in a time of need. Last night, my family opened our house up to strangers who needed shelter, several people even risking their own life, to help other gets out of a car knee deep in water, neighbours helping each other remove water from houses and just in general people constantly checking to make sure others were alright and asking if they needed anything. Say all the negative things you want about this suburb, but nothing beats a helping handed community like this, selfless acts like this make me so proud of where ive come from!
