Last night here at Vines we had a phenomenal tasting with our invited guest, Tuck Beckstoffer of the famous California land owners whose vineyard holdings comprise the very best of both Napa and Somoma. As you can see from our pictures, we started with the 2013 Hogwash Rose (Grenache base, Provence style) then continued with the delicious 2012 Melee (deep red Grenache) followed by a purely sensational 2009 Semper, Ellenbach Vineyard Pinot Noir (arguably the best California Pinot Noir I have ever tasted), followed by the 2011 The Sum, (75% Cabernet, 15% petite Syrah and 10% Syrah), then compared two beautifully crafted Cabernets; the first being 2011 Mockingbird Red from the Missouri Hopper Vineyard, the second being their totally famous 2009 Tuck Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon (only 40 cases made) sourced from Dr. Crane & Melanson Vineyards. Our special invited guests truly found all the wines sensational and memorable and were extremely pleased to be able to purchase some of these unique examples.
