Last night in the Rules Committee, we witnessed the very definition of political cowardice. For the second time in three years, the Republican Leadership of this House refused to make a thoughtful, germane, bi-partisan amendment on Afghanistan in order to the defense authorization bill. The amendment that would require the President to get Congressional approval to extend the deployment of our troops in Afghanistan after 2014. Our troops and their families deserve a debate. And Congress has the responsibility to give it to them. Congress must #demandavote on this #endlesswar
