Last night, last night... what a great way to pick up where we left off this Saturday at our VMFA event! We just brought that same beauty up into Tuesday Verses and had a straight ball!!! Shouts to all of the Verses family that participated in the school supply drive in support of Community 50/50 last night! We filled that box with all types of books, pens, pencils and thangs -- THANK YOU EVERYONE! It is so important that we pull together to support our community through our space. Thank you for looking out for our RVA young folks and Community 50/50s efforts! Shouts to Zbey ThaPoet for all that you do in the community. Keep up the great work sis! It was so beautiful to see all of the new folks hit the mic last night!! So/to Jeriel Champion holding the door down with the crew like normal! Welcome back J!!! So/to Onajé Baldwin for kicking off the night with some Black Street, loved it!! Shouts to Artillery Da God, A-Bellz, Show and Malcolm Xavie who were all new to the spot poets! We will be looking for you guys next week! So/to all of the staff and staples in the building! It was great to get Casandra Faith on the mic and be able to celebrate her new project -- Congratulations Casandra!!! So/to Ayo M. Morton, Veronica Evans, Traci Martin, Tracey Brown, Randolph A Fittz, Anoma-Lee Narrator Jones, Monica Holmes Edwards, GPA, Gregory Radiob Carden and all of the staff and staples that killed the mic last night!! Veney I looked for you to get that song in sis! Thank you for coming and bringing supplies!! We honored Bitew the owner of Addis Ethiopian Restaurant with a plaque last night for all his support of Verses! We love you and your staff at Addis. Thank you for providing a space for us each week! So/to the band Curt Broadie, Hart Dementi, Lenny Bones and JL... you guys killedddd, whew! Love you guys!!! Shouts to Radios Bs mom who has become a regular and hit us with a hot poem last night!
