Last night on Mount Tabor, a beautiful sunset and then later the Moon, Jupiter and and Saturn through the telescope for those that stayed long enough to see Saturn rising into viewing position by 9:45 pm. Many people including a father and mother of toddlers (at lower right image) saw Saturns rings for the time and were stunned beyond belief as were others that happened by after dark. At Marks telescopes on the street: Impromptu conversations between strangers speak of Einstein, Cosmic Ancestry, and primordial soup. - John Broxton, Journalist. No one ever knows who they will meet or learn from on the street in sessions of random sidewalk astronomy. *Two other Rose City Astronomers showed up unexpected so this made for some interesting late night extra innings of sky knowledge and storytelling. -M2014 *Ill do this again tonight but time schedules may vary as many ask when exactly I will do this- that cannot be readily arranged so easily.
