Last night the House of Representatives passed a bill that guts - TopicsExpress

Last night the House of Representatives passed a bill that guts national protection for our precious environment, taking us back 30 years, and throwing the new protection for water from CSG back to the very states that let CSG run rampant in the first place. What a black day. We Greens agree with Peter Martin, the Economics Editor of The Age, that “the environment is a national interest … Australians will hold the national government to account for what happens to the Australian environment whether or not it tries to claim it has passed the responsibility to somebody else”. Hear hear! The Greens will continue to do everything we can in the Senate to block this retrograde legislation that would damn our iconic species to extinction and leave our precious places open to the highest bidder.
