Last night there was a fundraising event for the charity Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) at Lewisham Town Hall organised by local groups. I agreed to open the event - the speaker was a truly remarkable human being, Dr Ang Swee Chai, the founder and now patron of MAP. She was working in a Palestinian refugee camp in the Lebanon at the time of the Sabra and Shatila massacre. Her experience led her to set up MAP. This is an address she gave recently.
