Last night was The Louisville Dream Center night at the Waverly - TopicsExpress

Last night was The Louisville Dream Center night at the Waverly Hills’ Christmas laster light show. Admission was a non-perishable food item per person. Thousands of people waited in a long line, some for 90 minutes, backed up at one point almost (a reported) two miles, to view the 16 minute show. Everyone who drove up the hill and to the food drop off point was kind and generous. Many were cheering US they donated, thanking US and wishing US a Merry Christmas. They were thanking US for what we were doing! Wow!! They deserve the thanks! Because of their efforts, we collected almost two tons of food for our food pantry! TWO TONS!!! It was a sight returning to the Dream Center with truck loads of food and seeing an organized and highly efficient army of volunteers sorting and organizing all of the donated food. Every shelf is filled, and every available wall is stacked with cases of vegetables and fruit, cereal, rice, instant potatoes and peanut butter, all to go to well deserving families in our community. AMAZING!!! Michele Brent Bissig and I have the greatest job in the world, and are blessed to serve alongside some of the greatest staff and volunteers on the planet, in the most generous community. Our hearts are bursting! WE ARE BLESSED! Thank you, Charlie and Tina Mattingly and staff at Waverly Hills for partnering with us. You are wonderful neighbors and friends! Please go see the show sometime this week, it is well worth it. Open every night through January 4th, Mon. - Fri. 7pm - 9pm, Sat. & Sun. 6pm - 9pm. $10.00 a car. One last thing…shout out to Valley View for their incredible Drive Thru Christmas production! If you have not drove through, tonight is the last night to do so. I know the traffic is heavy, but it is well worth it. Kinda cool having two churches creating traffic gridlock throughout our community.
