Last night was an emotional night at Council as we said farewell to one of our longest standing directors who retires officially today. You might recognize Stephen Barr by his endearing smile that makes everyone feel right at home here in La Porte. For over 20 years Stephen and his wife have poured their lives into making La Porte a better place to live. From volunteering at nearly every City function, to his wife Marcy always stepping up to play Mrs. Claus for the children, to seeing through numerous projects like the trail system expansion, spray park construction, and partnerships with groups like Trees for Houston, the Parks Department, and the City, has truly been blessed by Stephens leadership, vision, and heart! Please join us in wishing Stephen all the best in his retirement!
