Last night was the turn of Labelles to confront the team of the moment... in a very one sided first quarter we were 12-0 up with the conventional line up of C Meg-Anne Pearson GD Kim Rolls GK Kyla. WD Kelly Hamer WA Chloe Hodge GS Linzi Thompson and GA saw the very welcome return of Samantha Gardner...(who was unrecognisable from the last time she played with us... I feel a new signing on the cards, Gaffer) The naivety of the other team was apparent in the first minute as their centre stepped into the circle to take the pass... why on earth you would play someone who hadnt played for ages in a key position I dont know... ;) It was obvious from the first half that the match was already won, and with the opposition admitting half of their team hadnt played before we thought wed be even meaner and beat them when we were not playing to position. Although the half time score of 22-2 meant the game was over we still battled on and played as well in our other positions as we had in the first half. Some decisions from the umpires were very dubious but we have to remember to play to the whistle and just get on with the game and remember its the same for the opposition as it is for us...(having said that there was some dangerous play as well that was not seen by certain umpire) Although we didnt go for the jugular and really kill them off we reduced their scoring opportunities to virtually nil and the final whistle went at the score 32-2. This game saw the Wing Wonder return to full fitness with only a very small niggle that was ignored, but we all played a blinder last night. POTM once again went to Meg and well deserved... I, however think they gave it you for artistic impression from the backward fall :) With Lisa Croft possibly fit for next week we may have a selection issue for the gafffer who has to decide who to play where. Although there are a few absences due to work commitments I think this is a welcome headache for the Gaffer, rather than worrying if we have a team!!! Well Done JFTL!!! we kicked ass!
