Last night we watched the German movie Vision, depicting excerpts - TopicsExpress

Last night we watched the German movie Vision, depicting excerpts from the life of Hildegard von Bingen, the medieval German mystic nun known for her musical compositions. I agree with the Los Angeles Times, whose review found it to be a superbly rendered and deeply absorbing religious drama. The acting was credible; the scenery was lush, being filmed in some of the original medieval German cloisters; and the music was divine. You can view the trailer on the IMDb website at imdb/title/tt0995850/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2. Those interested may also sample her music on the Hyperion CD A feather on the breath of God, sequences and hyumns by Abbess Hildegard of Bingen, 1983. That disc won the Gramophone Record Award as the best of the year (1983) in its Early Music (Medieval and Renaissance) category.
