Last nights moon. The smaller one is at the HS50s maximum standard - TopicsExpress

Last nights moon. The smaller one is at the HS50s maximum standard zoom, the second is with its Intelligent Zoom feature turned and maxed out (digital equivalent of 84x zoom). Shot in full manual mode, tripod used, 10-second timer used (to remove any residual movement from pushing the shutter). Smaller image 1/160 shutter, f5.6 aperture, ISO 100; larger, 1/100 shutter, f8 aperture, still ISO 100 (see, folks, if you use that tripod you dont need to bump up the ISO to get a clear, clean image at low ISOs when shooting the moon). Both images run through Adobe Lightroom - some sharpening and color adjusting applied. A little cropping applied to each to better center the moon in the images (hey, my tripods a cheap SOB, its not the smoothest in terms of fine adjustments). Manual focus used too - I did hit the auto focus first (got me in the ballpark) and switched to manual focus to fine-tune.
