Last nights turn out was spectacular. 48 entries made it a great night of racing for all classes. I think our racers are appreciative of the nice, clean, competitive racing environment....not to mention a fully stocked hobby shop, on-site restaurants, real time heads up scoring, Wi-Fi and Satelite TV. Heres a re-cap of last nights events The kids class is by far the most fun to watch. Jocelyn Salley held the TQ spot by utilizing a smooth and defensive driving style. However when the tone sounded for the A-Main, Jocelyn nipped the inside turn a little hard and killed the drive train for the night. Aiden Milam brought home the top spot, followed by Brayden Anderson and Jennifer Daniels ( kid at heart). What happens when you put spec/ out of box cars in the hands of the areas best drivers? You get an M-Chassis class that is separated by hundredths of a second. Derrick Mills put his skills to the test and passed with flying colors last night by bringing home the W. Josh Daniels, who showcased his best driving of the season finished 2nd and Jeff Fergy Ferg Fergusson rounded out the top 3. The Turn 4 Mafia Legends are LEGIT in every sense of the word! These 2-cell coupes haul the mail around the turn 4 carpet! Little Josh Daniels was the TQ, just barely nudging out his father. However when the green flag dropped he couldnt hold off the charge of Phillip Kouns. LJ ( little Josh) ended up with a DNF and his Dad picked up the slack with a solid 2nd place finish to Phillip. 3rd place went to Shannon Ball after battling into the A-Main through the B. After having his best 2 heats ever at Turn 4 and TQing in Pan Car, Greg Blankenship self admitted that he fell victim to front runner nerves. This allowed the consistent Josh Daniels to grab the lead with 2 minutes left and would propel that pass to a solid win. Bill Cheater Pritchard, who is usually the class of the field fell victim to electrical issues and finished 3rd. Touring car looked to be a great battle between 4 really good drivers. Bill Pritchard, Josh Salley, Chauncey Darling, and Shannon Ball were all separated by 6 hundredths. After Bill and Shannon eliminated themselves from contention with car trouble, it would be between Josh and Chauncey to decide the outcome. Although at times it seemed Chauncey had 3 times the straight speed as Josh, he couldnt make those left hand turns quite as well. This allowed Josh to keep a safe distance away and bring home the crucial win. Shannon Ball completed enough laps to secure a solid 3rd place points finish as well. Shannon Ball may have fell short in Legends and TC, but there was no denying him a Limited Late Model victory last night. After winning the B-Main, Shannon avoided traffic and jumped out to a large lead. Although Dusty Milam was gaining on him in the last minute, the late charge was only good enough for a 2nd place finish. Josh Salley broke in his new DM GRAFX painted stalker body the right way by securing a firm 3rd place finish. Although indoor oval SCT racing may be new to some tracks, weve been going strong since June. We had to have a C and B-Main to decide last nights top 3. The ever tough Phillip Kouns would not be denied as he lead from start to finish. Shannon Ball, who once again made the field through the B-Main secured 2nd and the years most improved driver Derrick Mills brought home 3rd. Thanks to all of the racers AND families who joined us last night. Also a huge shout out to our partners; A-1 Cleaning and Restoration, Davis Hobbies, DM Grafx, Gone Banana Racing Skinz and JConcepts. Well see everyone next Saturday!!!!
