Last one for the night for Garnet Week contribution.... IDENTIFICATION: Umbalite Garnet (Rhodolite) CARAT WEIGHT: 8.42 carats QTY. / CUT - SHAPE: 1 / Diamond - Cushion MEASUREMENT: 12.6 x 10mm COLOR / QUALITY: Pink-Magenta / AAA+ CLARITY / TYPE: VVS2 super eye clean (10X) / TYPE II TREATMENTS / ENHANCEMENTS: N (no evidence of any enhancements to this stone) ORIGIN: Tanzania, Africa CERTIFICATE / REPORT #: 001421TU COMMENTS: The Umbalite & Raspberry Red garnets are scarce Garnets, especially any over 3cts, and are very highly prized due to their beautiful color and most definitely stand out set in a jewelry piece. Here is a ravishing Umbalite Garnet where the gem rough was mined from the Umba River Valley in the Lelatema Mountains of the Arusha Region, Tanzania. This gem Garnet has that highly prized and sought after pink-magenta color hue, remarkable luster and a well executed cut. The Tanzania Umbalite Garnet is by far the highest quality & most valuable of the Rhodolite group on the market these days besides the also scarce Tanzania raspberry red Rhodolite and is getting increasingly difficult to acquire these days due to low production from the Umba Valley in Tanzania. It is scarce to find this material eye clean, especially due to the point that it is scarce to find any Tanzania Umbalite or even Tanzania raspberry Garnet over 3cts alone. This material is very sought after by many collectors due to its unique & highly prized color tone, only known to the Umba Valley Region of Tanzania
